The geography is fairly simple. The uplands are in the Gargano promontory in the north-east and the Alta Murgia national park in the west, while the rest of the region is flatter, often pockmarked with small hills topped with a settlement of some sort. There are several hundred miles of Adriatic coastline to the east, a chunk of Ionian Sea to the south, and a brace of large, wildlife-rich lakes in the north (Varano and Lesina), which are separated from the sea by low hills and sand dunes.
Since Puglia is basically the shape of an upturned hockey stick, finding a way to see all this is an uncomplicated affair. Hug the coast from Vieste in the north-east to Brindisi in the south, before turning inland to take in the città bianche. Then strike west to Alta Murgia, north to the mysterious hilltop Castel del Monte to experience one of its wonderful sunsets, west to Foggia and then back into the Gargano to complete the loop. It’s unfortunate that most visitors’ first taste of Puglia is the sprawling mess of autostrade and industrial units around Bari airport. Bari itself has its moments – the narrow, cobbled streets of the old town by the Basilica di San Nicola and the 12th-century Castello Svevo (Swabian castle) are worth a wander and you can sample some ciambotta, the local fish-based stew – but the port city is rather down at heel. At least Brindisi, the region’s other gateway, has spruced itself up in recent years. Broad thoroughfares of blanched stone flanked by tall palms brim with little shops and tempting places to eat.

Look up on the wall of any restaurant in the region and there’s a good chance you’ll see a picture of Puglia’s favourite son, Padre Pio, who died in 1968 but was canonised 34 years later. Decked out in the brown habit of the Capuchin friars, the kindly San Pio gazes benignly down upon the faithful. Up on the Gargano peninsula, the astonishing, new shell-like church built by Renzo Piano at San Giovanni Rotondo, where Pio worked, is already a magnet for pilgrims.

Almost as numerous as San Pio sightings are Puglia’s trulli. Most abundant in the Valle d’Itria, just north-west of Salento, these small beehive-like stone dwellings give the landscape the appearance of having been scattered with upturned ice-cream cones. While most can be seen in the midst of plots of mature olive trees made square through decades of judicious pruning – the town of Alberobello boasts 1,400 trulli in a maze of narrow streets. The ancient settlement is so well preserved it’s been given Unesco World Heritage status. Just don’t mention hobbits – they’ve heard it before.
Alberobello is just one of Valle d’Itria’s string of città bianche or white towns, each on their own little hilltop rising up from the plain and each staring out defiantly at the rest, as if the days of petty fiefdoms were still with us. The white historic quarters of Cisternino, Martina Franca, Ceglie Messapica, Ostuni and Locorotondo are all worth a gander and are within easy striking distance of one another, making a day’s medieval hilltop città tour pretty much obbligatorio if you’re in the neighbourhood.
All these towns, though, are dwarfed by the northern stronghold of Foggia, where ancient churches and palaces are so numerous it makes you wonder what the city’s inhabitants did beyond worshipping and living it up.
By the sea there’s a good mixture of wild coastline and more happening spots. However, ask locals what their favourite seaside resort is and you’ll hear one name over and over again: Polignano a Mare. About 20 miles south-east of Bari, Polignano has a compact medieval quarter that might have been designed expressly for lovers of indolent pre-prandial ambles. The little town pushes itself right to the edge of limestone cliffs undercut by caves hewn by the ceaseless nibbling and gnawing of the Adriatic, while its tiny and postcard-pretty beach could be a Cornish cove, if it weren’t for the terrace of tall venerable buildings.
North up the coast is the Sentiero Airone nature reserve, home to those pink flamingos. The reserve is squeezed between the forest and peaks of the Gargano national park, which spreads over the eponymous northern peninsula, and the Alta Murgia national park, a high limestone plateau where, in one particular cave, are no fewer than 30,000 dinosaur footprints.
That’s not even the region’s most dramatic subterranean feature. Castellana Grotte (about 12 miles south-west from Polignano a Mare) is a two-mile-long labyrinth of passages and caverns – making a particularly welcome diversion on a hot summer day.
Back above ground, while there’s no classic cycling route through the region, seven miles have so far been opened of the Ciclovia dell’Acquedotto, a cycle path through the Valle d’Itria which will eventually form part of a 155-mile route through Puglia. The region’s star attraction is the food. Relatively impoverished though Puglia may be, the Pugliese take their alimento very seriously indeed. As might be expected, seafood dishes predominate, with squid a favourite ingredient, but there’s also a host of local specialities. The inland town of Altamura produces bread prized all over Italy. It’s baked in wooden ovens to a recipe unchanged since the Middle Ages, with the u puène muedde loaf cheekily mimicking a priest’s hat. Gioia del Colle is the place to go for mozzarella and burrata cheese; while in Murgia, cardoncello mushrooms and lampascioni (wild onions) abound. And wherever you are, you can order fave e cicoria, a traditional peasant dish consisting of a warm broad-bean pâté mixed with the local olive oil and served with bitter chicory. Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon or Bacon’s Law is a parlor game where players challenge each other to find the shortest path between an arbitrary actor and prolific actor Kevin Bacon, linked by films they have appeared in together. It rests on the assumption that anyone involved in the Hollywood film industry can be linked through their film roles to Bacon within six steps. The game’s name is a reference to ’six degrees of separation’, a concept which posits that any two people on Earth are six or fewer acquaintance links apart.
In 2007, Bacon started a charitable organization called SixDegrees.org. In 2020, Bacon started a podcast called The Last Degree of Kevin Bacon.[1]

In a January 1994 interview with Premiere magazine Kevin Bacon mentioned while discussing the film The River Wild that ’he had worked with everybody in Hollywood or someone who’s worked with them.’[2] Following this, a lengthy newsgroup thread which was headed ’Kevin Bacon is the Center of the Universe’ appeared.[3] Four Albright College students invented the game that became known as ’Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon’[2] after watching two movies featuring Bacon back to back, Footloose and The Air Up There. During the second they began to speculate on how many movies Bacon had been in and the number of people with whom he had worked.[citation needed]
They wrote a letter to talk show host Jon Stewart, telling him that ’Kevin Bacon was the center of the entertainment universe’ and explaining the game.[4] They appeared on The Jon Stewart Show and The Howard Stern Show with Bacon to explain the game. Bacon admitted that he initially disliked the game because he believed it was ridiculing him, but he eventually came to enjoy it. The three inventors released a book, Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon (ISBN9780452278448), with an introduction written by Bacon.[4] A board game based on the concept was released by Endless Games.[citation needed]
In the summer of 2012, Google began to offer the ability to find an actor’s Bacon number on its main page, by searching for the actor’s name preceded by the phrase ’bacon number’.In popular culture[edit]
In 1995 Cartoon Network referenced the concept in a commercial, having Velma (from Scooby-Doo) as the central figure in the ’Cartoon Network Universe’.[5] The commercial cites connections as arbitrary as fake appearances, sharing of clothes, or physical resemblance.
The concept was also presented in an episode of the TV show Mad About You dated November 19, 1996, in which a character expressed the opinion that every actor is only three degrees of separation from Kevin Bacon. Bacon spoofed the concept himself in a cameo he performed for the independent film We Married Margo.[6] Playing himself in a 2003 episode of Will and Grace, Bacon connects himself to Val Kilmer through Tom Cruise and jokes ’Hey, that was a short one!’.[7] The headline of The Onion, a satirical newspaper, on October 30, 2002, was ’Kevin Bacon Linked To Al-Qaeda’.[8] Bacon provides the voice-over commentary for the NY Skyride attraction at the Empire State Building in New York City. At several points throughout the commentary, Bacon alludes to his connections to Hollywood stars via other actors with whom he has worked.[citation needed]
Turner Classic Movies’ annual 31 Days of Oscar festival sometimes utilizes a promotional tactic called “360 Degrees of Oscar” (based on Bacon’s theoretical game) where TCM takes a significant actor, actress, director, or producer, and evolves its entire festival around them (the first and last films in the festival feature their works). It has been used as recently as 2020.
In 2009, Bacon narrated a National Geographic Channel show ’The Human Family Tree’[9] – a program which describes the efforts of that organization’s Genographic Project to establish the genetic interconnectedness of all humans. Bacon appeared in a commercial for the Visacheck card that referenced the game. In the commercial, Bacon wants to write a check to buy a book, but the clerk asks for his ID, which he does not have. He leaves and returns with a group of people, then says to the clerk, ’Okay, I was in a movie with an extra, Eunice, whose hairdresser, Wayne, attended Sunday school with Father O’Neill, who plays racquetball with Dr. Sanjay, who recently removed the appendix of Kim, who dumped you sophomore year. So you see, we’re practically brothers.’[10]
In 2011, James Franco made reference to Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon while hosting the 83rd Academy Awards.[how?]EE began a UK television advertising campaign on November 3, 2012, based on the Six Degrees concept, where Kevin Bacon illustrates his connections and draws attention to how the EE 4G network allows similar connectivity.[11]
In ’Weird Al’ Yankovic’s song ’Lame Claim to Fame,’ one of the lines is, ’I know a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy who knows Kevin Bacon.’[12] American rapper MC Zappa also makes reference to the game in his 2018 song ’Level Up (The Ill Cypher)’.[13]
The most highly connected nodes of the Internet have been referred to as ’the Kevin Bacons of the Web’, inasmuch as they enable most users to navigate to most sites in 19 clicks or less.[14][15]Bacon numbers[edit]
The Bacon number of an actor is the number of degrees of separation he or she has from Bacon, as defined by the game. This is an application of the Erdős number concept to the Hollywood movie industry. The higher the Bacon number, the greater the separation from Kevin Bacon the actor is.
The computation of a Bacon number for actor X is a ’shortest path’ algorithm, applied to the co-stardom network:

While at the University of Virginia, Brett Tjaden created the Oracle of Bacon.[16] A previous version of this computer program used information on some 800,000 people from the Internet Movie Database (IMDb), while the current implementation uses data drawn from Wikipedia. The algorithm calculates ’how good a center’[17] an individual IMDb personality is, i.e. a weighted average of the degree of separation of all the people that link to that particular person. The site returns an average personality number, e.g. for Clint Eastwood, it returns an average ’Clint Eastwood Number.’ From there the Oracle site posits ’The Center of the Hollywood Universe’ as being the person with the lowest average personality number. Kevin Bacon, as it turns out, is not the ’Center of the Hollywood Universe’ (i.e. the most linkable actor). In fact, Bacon does not even make the top 100 list of average personality numbers.[18] While he is not the most linkable actor, this still signifies being a better center than more than 99% of the people who have ever appeared in a film. Since each actor’s average personality number can change with each new film made, the center can and does shift. ’Centers’ have included Rod Steiger, Donald Sutherland, Eric Roberts, Dennis Hopper, Christopher Lee and Harvey Keitel.
A 2020 study from Cardiff University also used further measures to determine the center of the movie universe.[19] These included degree centrality, closeness centrality and betweenness centrality, which were implemented using the NetworkX Python Library. The study also looked at movies released in different decades and found that, between 2000 and 2020, the most central actors included Angelina Jolie, Brahmanandam, Samuel L. Inspired by the game, the British photographer Andy Gotts tried to reach Kevin Bacon through photographic links instead of film links.
Gotts wrote to 300 actors asking to take their pictures, and received permission only from Joss Ackland. Ackland then suggested that Gotts photograph Greta Scacchi, with whom he had appeared in the film White Mischief. Gotts proceeded from there, asking each actor to refer him to one or more friends or colleagues. Eventually, Christian Slater referred him to Bacon. Gotts’ photograph of Bacon completed the project, eight years after it began. The pressure is on, and educators are feeling it more and more.
Principals and school boards everywhere are requiring teachers to integrate technology into the classroom. Sometimes, the change is as simple as adding a computer class to the curriculum, other times it requires teachers to literally flip their entire lesson plan into a hi-tech beast!Integrating Ict Into Historyeffective Curriculum Ideas Examples
Integration of Information, Communication, and Technology (ICT) in education refers to the use of computer- based communication that incorporates into daily classroom instructional process. In conjunction with preparing students for the current digital era, teachers are seen as the key players in using ICT in their daily classrooms. Awareness and encourage them to integrate Information and Communication Technology (ICT) into the curriculum with a greater emphasis on science, mathematics and the use of computers. In addition, new learning resource centers are being set up in schools, complete with laboratory equipment, audio-visual systems, computers and other teaching aids.
Although these flipped classrooms give students an edge, they may also give their teachers a headache! Don’t worry, I’m here to show you that whether you teach 2nd-grade math or high school biology there is a simple way to ‘techify’ your existing lesson plans.

Warschauer (1996) asserts that ICT can enhance student motivation by helping students gain knowledge and skills about using computers, giving ample opportunity to use electronic communication, and carefully integrating computer activities into the regular structure of the lesson for meaningful learning.According to Abdul Rahim Saad (2000. Technology integration is an important way to create meaningful learning experiences. Lesson planning for teachers can be overwhelming when incorporating the use of computers in activities. In this article, the process for integrating technology is outlined in four easy steps. Technology Integration Lesson Planning Process.
1. Mission Impossible Challenge – Present a challenge to your students with this super engaging “Mission impossible” Template, complete with spy music! All you do is add your own images and Text!
2. Skype an Expert – The ‘Live’ version of anything online is awesome. Simply get in touch with an expert in any field, (this can be a college professor, the local museum curator, or even a fellow teacher). Schedule a Live Skype or Zoom session where the students can ask the expert questions — in real-time. If you teach Literature you’re in luck, there is a website dedicated to connecting with authors — Skype an Author!
3. Five Facts about “Subject” – This is the most useful template for an in-class assignment or as homework (if students have the tech capabilities). Simply choose a topic, and write 5 facts about a said topic. “Hi, I’m H20 and I do 5 things really well…”
4.Fuzzy Image – You will need a camera or camera phone. Zoom in on an object until it becomes fuzzy or you can only see a small part of the total image. Print it out or project it onto a screen. Have students guess the mystery image as a lesson introduction.
5. Google Earth – This app is not limited to history or geography or environmental science; You can use it to show students where the pythagorean theorem was developed, or the actual location in China where ‘Kung Fu Panda’ learned his skills. Google Earth is a fun and really quick way to infuse some real-time, hi-tech into any lesson.
6. Interview A Scientist or Historical figure – Create a dialogue with a great leader in their field, such as Einstein, Gandhi, or Neil DeGrasse Tyson. This animated interview is very easy to set up using Powtoon. Simply upload an image and add a few speech bubbles. It’s pretty fun watching your teacher hang out with an ‘educational celebrity’. You ask questions and the answer is pre-made on each slide. Animated Interviews are also great for students with presentation anxiety because the slideshow guides them through each point.
7. Mini Me Introductions!– Turn yourself or your students into cartoon versions of yourselves! Students will get a kick out of seeing themselves on screen with a giant head and a cartoon body. “Mini-Me” is especially useful for the beginning of the school year. Your class can make animated videos or slideshows introducing themselves with key pointers, such as name, hobby and a cool fact they just learned!
7. Collaborative Class Blog – Set up a blog (WordPress, Blogger, Kidblog) for your class! Come up with a fun title with your students and create different categories based on your syllabus. For example, if you’re an English Teacher you can vote on a fun title like, “Class 7B’s Book Reading Blogorama!” Create a tab for each book you read like ‘Brother’s Grimm, The Giver, Macbeth, etc…’ Ask your students a question in class and have them write a short post either during the lesson or as a homework assignment. Have them publish it the blog and tag it into the appropriate category.
8. Make a Meme –Meme Generator! There are memes about everything from cats to chemistry, to cats teaching chemistry. Have your students pick an image or provide your own image and let them fill in the rest. Print them out and hang ‘em up!
9. Build My Website Project – Have your students build their own website based on course topics. For instance, if you teach History and you are learning about the Revolution – You can ask each student in the class to create a website covering 18th Century themes. i.e ‘18th Century Soldier’ (resource guides, food reviews, military fashion, Horses in Battle, etc…) or ‘Constitution Corner’ (covering political candidates, issues and formation of the US government) Or ‘18th Century Science’.
10. Slide for Each Day Project – This is on one of my favorites. Every day after your lesson have one student summarize the main takeaway from the class in one sentence. Take a picture (either of another student, a drawing in a textbook, or upload a relevant image) and add it to a Powtoon slide. Voila! 11. Tell an inside Joke – Create a 20-second animated video with a personalized joke: “What is Mrs. Johnson’s favorite drink?” Hot Chalk – olate! Yes, it’s cheesy, but jokes are a quick and fun way to get kids situated with the idea of animations and short videos. Have them each write a funny joke, funny phrase or inspiring quotation. Check out this list of nerdy educational jokes and apply one to your class!
12.Lyric Video/Music Video – All students can relate to music. Have each student choose a short verse or chorus of a song they like, then have them change the lyrics to the topic of their choice. Here’s an example of “All about that Space” by science entertainer Coma Niddy. Students can use animated characters and on-screen lyrics if they don’t want to make live video. Here’s an example of Uptown Funk animated Lyric video.
13. Video Clips – This is a no brainer — Use BrainPOP, YouTube or TED to break up the monotony of class by showing a video that enriches your lesson or even a short video clip that will let out a giggle. If you are giving a presentation via slideshow, you can even insert a video into your presentation without any tech skills.
There you have it! With minimal effort and a bit of creativity, you can easily integrate technology into any lesson plan.

Following the words of Tom Whitby, other experts widely support avoiding a ‘one size fits all’ formula. Understanding your learning stylewill stop you banging your head against the wall in frustration. Figuring out what works for you can switch that light bulb on over your head and make learning an easier and fun process.
Julia Sharman, an Education Advisor and Consultant is an advocate of encouraging students to discover their learning style and apply this to the type of notes they take. For example, a kinaesthetic learner would most likely prefer to use spider-grams, charts or doodles with a variety of color.
Determining which of these 6 types of learners you are will help you even further.2. Question Why You Are Taking Notes
Questioning the purpose of taking notes will help you process information better. Terry Heick is a former English teacher and the Director of the huge education blog Teach Thought. He explains why he encouraged his students to appreciate the importance of note making. “What I tried to impart more than anything else was the point of taking notes – understanding what you are documenting and why in each individual circumstance. This can inform what you record and how, rather than falling into mindless ‘strategies’ and techniques.”3. Don’t Record Every Single Comment
This is the most significant feedback we received from numerous experts in varying forms. The more you engage in the note making process, the more you will understand the valuable nuggets of information you should record. There is no way that your wrist will be able to cope with every word your teacher or lecturer says, but there are note making techniques you can try.
When giving advice to her students, educator, tech specialist, blogger and all round ‘digital diva’ Rafranz Davis tells her class to record short important bites. This acts as ‘an anchor’ to drive deeper thinking and scope to dive into an area. David Bayne, a UK teacher and big fan of our free elearning tools here at GoConqr, also suggests using key words but also using your own words and those which you understand.
Along with not writing every word, the key point is NOT to try to learn your notes verbatim also. You need to understand the material or you will simply trip yourself up when it comes to taking exams and tests.4. Link your Notes to Your Syllabus
If your course requires lots of assignments and projects, you will already know that you need to reference all original sources of information you use. Take this a step further by linking the topic you are studying to your core syllabus. This will help you understand where each topic fits in the overall picture.
You should also include sources when building your notes as this will help you find out more about that particular area. Argentinian instructional designer and lifelong learner Mayra Aixa Villar gave us her reason for doing this. “I always include an original source under my notes so that I can remember the author and continue reading their work.”5. Use Technology to Your Advantage

Logo template files can be called by different names. They can be called Logos, Badges, and Buttons, plus others probably as well. But searching with these 3 terms will bring you the sorts of graphics files you will need.
Logos and graphics files for download, come in different format types – they have different endings for the files: such as psd, png, jpeg, jpg and others. These endings to graphics files dictate what sort of software you can use to edit them. You will want to edit them by adding text, changing colors etc.Graphics File-Ending Names:
*Image.png, and image.jpg = able to add text, and text color changes, easily with Mac’s Preview app.
*Image.psd= photoshop files that require you to use an image editor e.g.
*Photoshop
*Gimp (free)
*Paint (free) for Windows
*zip files: easily opened with ordinary apple software

Bonus Free Tip: If you use the free Grab app. to take screen shots on your Mac, the screen shot gets saved as a ‘tiff’ file. You cannot upload a ‘tiff’ file directly into WordPress using the normal uploading methods on the WordPress Dashboard. It won’t work.
But that doesn’t matter, because you can easily re-Save your ‘tiff’ file as a .jpeg file in Preview, or send a ‘.tiff’ file to iPhoto, do some nifty image quality and color ‘Adjustments’, and then Export it back as a .jpg or a .png file, back to your hard drive, ready for uploading.
But you don’t even need to use a separate app like Grab to take Screen shots: you can use the Screen shots option that is built into Preview at Preview>File>Take Screen Shot.
Jpg, jpeg and .png files can be uploaded into a Post using the Set Featured Image feature on WordPress, or the Upload/Insert: Add Media icon, you can find above your rows of Formatting options at the top of every Edit Post screen in WordPress. Do a Google search and find a software program that will open .rar files, for example:
*Archiver – has a free trial period
*Rar-expander is another one.
Once you’ve opened and unzipped the .rar file, make a second copy of the whole download, so you have a spare backup copy of your logo templates:
this is for when you stuff up some of your original downloaded logos, you find out that you forgot to revert back to the original template to save the original…. And now your Archiver free trial has just expired and you can’t download a fresh version of your logo image. Yes….I make the stupid mistakes so you don’t have to.
When you make your own logo, you will want to add your own Text, and be able to change the size, color, and placement of the text. You can easily do this using the Mac Preview app that ships with every Mac computer.Graphics Editing: How to Add Text Boxes To Images with Mac Preview
Before you can add text to your image, you need to add a Text Box to write in.
Using Mac’s Finder: Find a button or badge template that you like, where you saved it on your computer.
Double click on it and it will open in your Mac’s Preview ap.
Go to Finder>Preview> Tools (top menu of Preview) and select ‘Annotate’ from the drop down menu.
You might find that Preview now gives you an Option Box. This is what happens when you downloaded your logo template earlier, and have not opened it in Preview for a while. It will ask you if you want to Unlock this image. Well of course we do, but let’s not go there…..
Click Unlock
Select Tools>Annotate>Add Text from the Annotate drop down menu, by left clicking on it.
Double left click on the image where you want to add text
You will see several dots in a vertical line, joined by lines.
It might look like a single vertical line, but don’t be fooled! They are just testing you!
You have to pull apart those dots on this vertical line with your mouse. That will expand it to show the text box area where you can type to add your text.
You do this widening of the Text Box, by grabbing the dots slightly on the right hand edge on that vertical line (hold down with mouse cursor, keep it down) and drag/shift those Text Box dots to the right. Doing that will expand the Text Box to form a rectangle area on your graphic.
Grabbing and dragging those dots around, is how you can shift the placement of your Text Box on your image, and also increase or decrease the size of your Text Box – but not the size of your text – see below.
Your placement and size of your Text Box can be fine tuned later. Now we need to add some text into that Text Box.Graphics Editing: How to Add Text to An Image in Mac Using Preview

The secret is, you have to Double click inside the dots of your text box

A double click will almost always work like a charm, and open all doors like magic – it’s one of those cruel ‘in-jokes’ that graphics geeks enjoy so much. The text you’ve typed into your text box may be too big or too small:
While dots are showing, click the ‘A’ symbol to show the available fonts. That will bring up the Preview Formatting Fonts box. If your dots have disappeared, a single click inside the Text Box will bring them back.Creating Logos For Free
Select the font you like and change the font size using the slider on the right – using this slider allows you to fine tune the size with the text, so you don’t have to stick to the font sizes they specify in their list.
Hot Tip: Whenever you find that your Preview formatting isn’t working, double click on the text box – that usually fixes most things.
Move your text around by clicking on the dots and/or text and drag it with your mouse to align it where you want it. Now your text is the correct size and in the correct position on your image. Want to change the color of the text? Too easy!
While the dots are showing – a single click will usually display the dots (if you’ve lost them), and then an additional double click will allow formatting of the text.
Click on the colored rectangular icon above the badge image screen
Choose either one of the standard colors shown, or click on Other in the drop down menu, to get the Color Chart Circle to show up, as in the screen shot above.
Every time you make a logo variation you want to keep, save it by going to Preview>File>Export>Save
When you save a version of your badge using the Preview>File>Export>Save method, you do not ‘Save’ the badge you are working on in its final finished form. You have saved a current version of it to your Computer, but can still continue to edit it the original in Preview.
Hot Bonus Tip: Sometimes, you can waste half a day trying to get Preview formatting to work for you. This stubborn refusal of Preview to do what you want, can happen at any stage when you want to go back and change, or do more editing, to your badge. I know….been there, done that!
The secret is, you are probably trying to edit one of your already edited, and already Saved images – not the original, or the still-open version of the original.
You can only re-do editing in Preview on an image that has not already been finally Saved to your computer, and with its Editing already done and saved. In other words, you cannot go back and re-open one of your edited and saved versions of your badge, and expect to be able to change the editing you already did.
You have to keep working with the original you are experimenting with, or you can start over with a new original.
To start over with a new ‘clean’ original, you can use the Revert Document feature of the Preview app.Use ‘Revert to Original Document’ When You’ve Finished Editing in Preview
The Clever-Clogs Method: When you’re all done with your editing, and have saved several edited versions of your badge to your computer along the way, there is one final job to do. You should restore the original badge template you’ve been using, back to its pristine former glory before closing and Saving – see instructions for using Revert Document below.Best App For Creating Logos On Mac Keyboard
If you do that, you will be able to do more editing on your logo again later if you want to.
The Not-So-Clever-Clogs Method: Now suppose you are human, and forgot to do this last night before turning in: You saved the edited version, you didn’t make a spare back up copy of the original when you first downloaded it, and you need to do more editing on your badge. Now you open your logo in Preview, and find that Preview will not let you re-edit your logo.
Fear not, trusty readers, all is not lost! It can still be done. The trick is to realize why Preview will not let you re-edit your image before you smash your computer (see Hot Tip above) – and fix it. Here’s how.
You use Preview’s Revert Document feature – this is the last job you should have done last night before turning in, if you’re a clever clogs……not me, unfortunately – how do you think I even know about this glitch…….
Open your previously edited and saved Logo image in Preview, (or use the still open image you’ve just been editing if you are one of the truly gifted).
Go to Preview>File>Revert Document. This is how you get your original back again – back in its original state before you improved it in Preview – i.e. from before you messed it up.
When you click Revert Document from the ‘File’ drop down menu, all the Revisions you made to the original will slide miraculously into view on your screen. This is seriously cool and worth doing, just for the experience. Select the oldest (furthest at the back), which will be the original, by clicking on it.
Click the Restore tab below your different versions, and the original slides into view into Preview like magic. Now you can Save your logo again, as the original un-tarnished, ‘clean’ template. Once you’ve saved the original logo template back to your hard drive, you can mess it up all over again! Not bad eh? Clever old Apple – caters to idiots as well as geeks. ……..Cue Motto!Plan Well Start Small Think BIG!
